Rose Pedal Revolution

Written poetry is a craft now reserved for those who cannot get a record deal, or afford studio time.  Writing a good poem and writing a good song can be completely different.  I have never heard a good dubstep song with Maya Angelou reciting her work in the background, just as I have never heard the words, “Baby, baby, baby,” used effectively in a strictly written piece.

ROSE PEDAL REVOLUTION

A thousand rose pedals thrown in a blender

Cheers to addiction

For love I surrender

Anything, everything

For anyone who’s ever seen

Mechanized stars baptizing a soul scream, or

Weaponized scars chastising the whole dream

Deep in black nights where light brights

Ignite the right plight

To fight through windpipes

With peaceful Zen kites

That seep through insights

That creep through invites

From meditating, contemplating, debating hind sight

Get your mind right

Master the moment

Handle what’s here and now, and the future, we’ll own it

Understand that, then you’ll recognize this

What’s here and now is to ever exist

One thousand angels chained to the ground

Cheers to liberation

For love I am bound

To every place in any space

For anyone who’s ever had a taste

Of rose pedal moon shine distilled through a warm faith

A gold medal boom time instilled through alarm states

Deep in cold days where swarms pray

To storm the old ways

And warn the new phase

Negate the fast plays

Mistakes the past made to dictate on mass graves

So rebate the brash haste

Equate the last stage

Awake the brass sage

And inflate the fan base

By analyzing, utilizing, reprising time wastes

Get your mind straight

Master the moment

Handle what’s here and now, and the future, we’ll own it

Understand that, then you’ll recognize this

What’s here and now is to ever exist
